The Greenway and Riverfront in New Albany

Our riverfront has always been a favorite destination of mine on walks and runs around town. During the pleasant weather last weekend, I got the camera out and took a few shots. Progress on the Greenway is moving right along. And I love it.

I wasn’t the only one out that morning. At least a dozen other visitors were strolling and enjoying the views. Not to bad for a February morning.

I took the kiddos down to that park a few weeks ago. It was nice, quiet and the set up was pretty nice.

However, (NOT to rain on your parade here). There was broken glass/sharp plastic over at the old work sign post thingie. There are bucket full of dowel rods, a used tank of some kind of fuel. Big chunks of concrete. And this was all right in front and surrounding the playground!

When we were there though, we definitly weren't alone. There were lots of others out. We saw probably 10 walkers when we were there and it was the middle of the day during the week.

Plus it's fun to watch the river. Another awesome thing in New Albany that has soo much potential.

Also? The Nazareth drummer plaque..?

Well, it is a construction site. But I agree it could be cleaned up a tad. That sign needs to go. It has been like that for a while. I'll never understand the destructive nature of kids wandering the streets/riverfront at night. I guess we all go through the "whack a mailbox" phase. I just wish they wouldn't mess up the multi-million $ project that benefits the entire community.

I was there a couple of weeks ago. Aside from the construction it looks really good. I can't wait until it's finished.
